The image below shows the settings are use for the podcast app left , Stations middle and shows right and all well. When an Episodes are playing the app periodically pulls down new eps even though the Refresh Every option in the Podcasts settings left is set to Manually. I also make it a point to swipe my finger vertically down on the middle of the Library screen before leaving a WiFi location so all the Available eps are downloaded before I move to mobile data.
